Kids' Corner

Our readers were invited to create an original character mascot for "Kids' Corner". We are thrilled to introduce you to... Morris the Mouse, a creation by Sophie, Age 9, of Neutral Bay Public School. Sophie's Morris will appear regularly throughout 2017 and will host our activities.

We will be in touch with Sophie very soon. She wins our prize pack of three age-appropriate books. Congratulations Sophie!

Aleesah Darlison's latest novel, Running from the tiger, is a tale of trust and friendship: "When eleven-year-old Ebony meets enigmatic Teena, they instantly become much more than the 'default' friends Ebony has grown used to having. Only when the girls come to trust one another fully do they unlock each other's troubling secrets, enabling their friendship to deepen..."

We have a copy of Running from the tiger to give away to one of our young readers. Just tell us, in 25 words or less, who is the friend that you can always rely upon when times get tough. Send us an email here to the CBCA NSW Branch office.

Please make sure:

  • "Kids' Corner Competition" appears in the subject line,
  • Your full name, age and current school appears in the body of your email.
  • Your parents are aware that you are entering this competition, as the best entries will be published here.
