Aspiring Writers Mentorship Program 2015

Winner of the 2015 Aspiring Writers’ Mentorship Program 

A story about a young girl’s belief in an orphan Brumby has won the author, Derina McLaughlin, the 2015 Aspiring Writers’ Mentorship Program (AWMP) Award, which is run by the Children’s Book Council of Australia New South Wales Branch Inc. and sponsored by Penguin Random House Australia.

Derina’s was celebrated at the Lady Cutler Dinner, held on Tuesday 17th November, where she received The Charlotte Waring Barton Award.

Charlotte Waring Barton Award

CBCA NSW Inc. and Penguin Random House Australia have joined forces to foster aspiring writers.

CBCA NSW Inc. is proud that the 2015 Mentorship for Aspiring Writers (Charlotte Waring Barton Award) will be sponsored by Penguin Random House Australia again!

The 2015 winner received a comprehensive mentorship including:

  • 3 x 2 hour sessions with a Penguin Random House author.
  • 1 x 1 hour session with a Penguin Random House editor.
  • 1 x 1 hour session with Penguin Random House Publicity and Marketing Department.
  • 1 x 1 hour session with a Penguin Random House publisher.
