Maurice Saxby Lecture

This lecture is incorporated into the Lady Cutler Event.

The biennial Maurice Saxby Lecture recognises the contribution made to the CBCA by Dr H Maurice Saxby AM (1924 - 2014), especially as first National President, and his ongoing involvement and support over more than sixty years. He was one of the most significant people involved in the development of children’s literature in Australia, as a highly-respected lecturer, writer, reviewer and mentor and was recognised internationally as an authority on children’s literature.

CBCA NSW Branch Inc has been fortunate to receive books from his library and has formed “The Maurice Saxby Children’s Literature Reference Library” which is housed in the office. A list of titles may be accessed here and any member, who is studying or interested in borrowing from this collection, should contact the office
