Lady Cutler Dinner 2015

Was held on Tuesday November 17, 2015

Guest Speaker: Deb Abela

Deb Abela was an amazing and inspiring after-dinner speaker who enthralled the audience with a highly moving and personal story of the power of books.

  • The 2015 LADY CUTLER AWARD was presented to Dr Heather Fisher at the Lady Cutler Dinner. 
  • Read the citation here delivered by Sylvia Ransom, secretary of CBCA NSW NENW sub-branch secretary and the nominator of the recipient.
  • Winner of the 2015 Aspiring Writers’ Mentorship Program, Derina McLaughlin, was also celebrated at the Lady Cutler Dinner, where she  received The Charlotte Waring Barton Award. For the press release click here. For further information about the award, click here.

Big Book Day Out

Was held on Sunday 13 September 2015, at NSW Writers Centre, Callan Park Rozelle

 Big Book Day Out:, a great day filled with authors, illustrators, story tent, performances, book shop and more.

Big Book Day Out Design a Poster Competition

Was open to students Year 2 to Year 6. 

Congratulations to all these winners of this year’s Design a Poster for Book Week competition, which was sponsored by Staedtler and Penguin Random House:

On Monday January 19, 2015 at the Great Hall at Sydney University, a service was held to honour the achievements of Dr H Maurice Saxby AM, who worked tirelessly and passionately to promote the importance of books in a child’s life and quest for literacy. More details are here.
